Hurricane Irene August 28, 2011
Not since Floyd had we had such damage. There was 6 inches of water in the Mill that left coating of slimey slick mud covering every floor on the first floor. It took 165 volunteer man hours and 30 professional hours to allow us to reopen to complete the run of RABBIT HOLE which was interrupted during intermission by a blackout on the Saturday night of the storm. Hurricane Irene Second Flood September 8, 2011
And they say lightning doesn't strike twice. On September 8, the Neshaminy Creek rose above flood level again, washing away all the driveway repair just completed, throwing the handicap ramp back in the woods again, flooding the front lobby, part of the rest rooms, the entire scene shop, and ... a new one... killed our well water pump. RABBIT HOLE was supposed to make up three nights of its run that were cancelled from the first hit. They only got off one night, Wednesday, September 7. We cancelled the rest of the ill-fated run, and tried to make repairs once again...this time in time for SHOWIN' OFF, a benefit for the company that was planned due to severe financial need (even before the expenses of Irene).
